Well, this morning there was still plenty of snow. Daddy didn't go in to work because his car is still where he left it last night (we hope) and things are very icy anyway. It's definitely an experience. Amber is loving it though. I don't think that she really understands that it's rather cold. She just loves playing in the snow. It's almost up to her knees in spots, so it's definitely here!

Snow!

Well, they say that it doesn't snow that often in the valleys in the Seattle area, but we are definitely getting some tonight! We have what I would guess is at least a couple inches. Tried to take a picture of Amber making footprints in the snow, but it was too dark, but this is what our complex looks like right now. I will say it's rather scary to drive in when you don't have much experience, 4 wheel drive, chains or snow tires. :)

Mommy's birthday

This weekend we celebrated Mommy's birthday. Auntie Jenn came up and we did lots of fun things including Pike's Place Market and the Space Needle. Interestingly enough the munchkin really didn't understand that Seattle was a place not a person. She kept wanting to "see Seattle" when we were already there. Ah well, not too clear on the concept, but it was fun anyway. :)
It was great to see Auntie Jenn, but now we are tired from a weekend of very little nap!! :)

More with "fuzzy" grandparents

I know we posted some already, but I just couldn't resist. These were on Grandma's camera, and are totally cute! It's actually not the standard "Amber smile"!!!!!
We had problems getting the pictures to upload, so I hope things work!

Grandparents and Pumpkins

This weekend was very fun but tiring! We had Fuzzy Grandpa and Grandma up for a visit. It was very important for Amber to make sure that they read lots of books and played with her toys. :) On Saturday we went to a local pumpkin patch and found a few that were nice. We got some small ones that were supposed to go on the mantel to be decorative for the harvest season, but Amber had other plans. She carried around one of the little ones, and told Grandma to carry around another one. We had lots of fun, and now are trying to catch Amber up on all the sleep she missed!

Helping

So, you like my new karate pose???? Ok, so actually maybe not, but Mommy thinks it's pretty funny anyway. I have reached a new milestone! Mommy lets me put away the silverware out of the dishwasher. It's pretty fun...... forks, knives, big spoons, little spoons, they each have their own place. It's kind of like a puzzle. I feel so big! Now, whenever Mommy is doing something in the kitchen, I want to help. Last night I got to help put together the Chicken Viva too! It was fun! :)

End of Summer Fun

We have had a lot of fun the last few weeks doing all kinds of things! It's supposed to start the "rainy season" fairly soon, so some things will be getting harder to do in the near future. Anyway, we thought you might enjoy some pictures. We went to the zoo, got a like for our patio area, and played with the bike (though her feet still don't reach the pedals very well). We are having lots of fun and enjoing the cool air of the Seattle area!

More Mini-Wheats Please?

It has been a long time since we have posted, so here's something new. We have moved on in cereal preferences! Once it was Cheerios, now Frosted Mini Wheats are what she wants, even as an afternoon snack! Silly girlie!
Today we got to go on a walk with Connor (and his mom and baby sister of course) and it was a wonderful thing, for both of us. Running, playing and giggling for her, and I walk with adult company in the nice cool outdoor air for Mommy. Yippee! :) We're pretty sure Amber is growing, but it's hard to tell for sure when we see her every day. I bet that when "Fuzzy Grandpa" comes to visit, he and Grandma will be able to tell the difference! :)

At the zoo

On Wednesday we got to go to the zoo with Amber's new friend Connor. They are so funny, they spent the whole ride to the zoo making each other laugh. :) Then when we got to the zoo most of the animals were sleeping and the kids just kept snacking as we tried to find some interesting animals. Probably the best part, aside from the gorillas who were actually awake and interesting, was the Zoomazium. Basically it's a play area for the kids where they can climb and play and goof off with stuffed animals and other learning toys. He is the boy in the picture, just in case you were wondering. :)

Can you hear me now?

Ok, so it's not a phone, it's Daddy's tea cup. It's still pretty fun to talk into it and hear my voice coming back!

Reunion 2006

This last weekend we were down in Tahoe City to go to Stacie's wedding and see lots of family. Amber loved all the attention as well as dancing. :) Once we had the father/daughter dance and she got on the dance floor, she really didn't want to get off again. It was quite a while later when we were heading back for our room and she still was fussing that she "wanna dance." Her parents, however, thought that 9:30 was probably late enough for a two year old to stay at a party. :) Anyway, here are some cute pictures of Amber and also Lorelei on the dance floor.

Hula Hoop

In our Teeny Weeny Wigglers class the teacher has hula hoops. Right now Amber doesn't play with it the way a bigger kid would, but it's fun to have one at home. She is so possesive of "her" hoop in class that it's hard to get her to let us use it to make a tunnel! She's so funny, after 2 days of class, now we participate in most things, but there are still a few that are just way too threatening an activity. :)

Coloring in the heat

Well, it's almost 90 degrees here, which is record heat for the Seattle area. We don't have any air conditioning, so it's spending time in the pool and with the windows open to catch any breeze possible. It's so warm that sitting up to color was just a bit too much work, I guess. ;)

Bubbles

Today we got some new bubble toys at Target, and a really BIG bottle of bubbles too! They are lots of fun, and one makes tons of bubbles without anyone having to blow. Very nice for Mommy and Daddy. :) Bubbles are a very exciting treat, especially with new toys. It makes a great excuse for a small girl to need "5 more minutes" before bed. :)

Father's Day

Today we went to the park and had a bbq. We got the grill for Memorial Day, and then it was raining. Ah well... :) Amber specifically enjoyed the carrots and dip as well as corn on the cob. She actually ate a whole piece of corn all on her own! Silly girl! :)

Blocks!

We're building a castle! And Pooh is the "king" of it! :) The Mega Blocks are a lot of fun. We build and then knock it down, and build again. It's a lovely stage. :)

Things to see
One of our favorite pastimes is to "See some water! See some ducks!" They are all out at the front of the complex, so here's the basic view that we have after naps most days. :)

Reading already!
Ok, maybe not..... Well, this will be the first text only post. :) Today the munchkin "read" Sandra Boynton's "Blue Hat, Green Hat" to her parents. She gets almost everything correct, up until the list at the end, and then she skips to the socks and shoes. :) Obviously those are the most important. For a long time she would fill in the "oops" on each page, but now it's the whole thing! So much fun!

Puddles and Rain

We loved walking in the rain today. Check out the new rain boots! In case you can't tell, they are dalmations, and Amber loves them immensely!

Improv slide
Take couch cushions and a daddy and you have a great game! Slides are fun no matter how you come by them. :)
