More snow fun

Well, not much information to update, other than that we are hopeful that the weather will behave itself and we'll have a plane to get on and it will take off. Anyway, today we went to one of our favorite parks to play in the snow.... so here's some fun!

Too much snow!!!

I am told that people in the Seattle area were praying for a white Christmas...... Well, we're going to have one, and it may be the last time that adults think it would be fun for a while! Yesterday we were supposed to be on an airplane heading for LA. We, along with LOTS of other people were delayed and then cancelled, and finally the airport was just closed. Turns out that the tanker trucks with de-icer got stuck on the pass!

Anyway, 12ish hours after we got to the airport, we finally got to head home with all our stuff in tow. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we'll get out of here on the 24th!

The pictures are of our snow this morning, and also of the girls earlier this week. :)

Cooking Helper

Reanne really likes to be in the kitchen with Mommy while dinner is being made. A couple nights ago she really wanted the spatula that was being used in the cooking process. She got a spoon instead, but was pretty excited about it for a while. :)

Yay for snow!!!

Well, after waiting all week, and having school cancelled because of icy roads and such, we finally have snow!!! Amber had a great time playing with the neighbor kids ranging in age from 12 to 21 months. :) They even played "baseball" with snowballs.... not much in the way of runs since the ball shattered if it was hit, but still fun. :)

In fact, she's upset that her parents aren't letting her be out in it all day!!!!

Amber has been in a couple different groups that are dancing this year, so these are some pictures. :)

Learning!

Wow, it's been a long time!!! Pictures will come soon, but we just have to share. :) Reanne had a learning moment that was so cute last night. She has, in her crib, a little "aquarium," lights, bubbles, moving fish, all very exciting. Anyway last night she was in her crib while big sister was getting ready for bed and got rather upset when it turned itself off. However, after being shown again that she could push the blue button herself, she rolled on her side and played with it! On, off, on, off, on, off, on, off!!! So much fun!

Halloween and other fun

We had a great time with Halloween this year. I wouldn't say that anything truly interesting happened really, it's just fun that Amber's really in to it. :) The day started out not so great since we had to be at the dentist's office at 9am to do one final check on the tooth. It had barely moved once again, so it was removed so as to allow things to heal and not get infected inside her gums and jaw. She actually recovered pretty quickly and wanted to go to the special Halloween story time at the library instead of heading home. :) For trick or treating, our city did a trick-or-treat downtown event. We got to walk around while the sun was still up, visit lots of businesses (including a couple where they know Amber by name), and completely fill her jack-o-lantern bucket with candy. When we got home to count the candy she had 121 pieces, 16 of which were suckers and tons which were chocolate. It definitely kept us busy for a while counting and sorting candy!

Traumas

For anyone who may not have heard, we ended up spending some time in the ER last Wednesday night. It is definitely NOT my favorite thing!!! Anyway, Amber was being silly on her bed while we were getting Reanne in her pjs. I'm thinking that as she was bouncing around a stuffed animal went one way and Amber went the other.... suffice it to say that she smacked her face pretty badly, there was lots of blood and swelling and she managed to knock one tooth back up into her gums and the two next to it are loose. We'll see how she is doing and what the dentist says at her follow-up visit on Friday. :) The picture shows the missing tooth as well as the girls in their matching shirts! Reanne is growing so fast we had to do it quickly! :)

Progress!

We are happy to report that after many days of crankyness, Reanne has cut her first tooth! It seems that #2 is not far behind, but we'll see. :)

At this point in time the size differential and muscle strength of both girls makes this possible. Most of the time Amber loves being a big sis. Sometimes it's stressful, but she's surviving!

Carol's Visit

This is rather a long time coming, but anyway, these are some pictures from Carol's visit a few weeks ago. Amber had a lot of fun monopolizing Auntie Carol. Now all we need to do is figure out how to have Carol well when she visits! :)

Fun at the Fair

We had the fair this month and Amber loved it. Though her favorite is the rides and they aren't cheap! It was great to go with friends and enjoy some time out. :)

Rolling Over

Reanne is definitely growing up! Today for the first time she rolled over from her tummy to her back. She's not actually very happy about it since she can't turn herself back over, but I'm sure that will come soon enough. Time to start baby proofing! :)

Matching PJs!

Having two girls is fun. :) Amber decided that she wanted to have matching pjs with her baby sister. :) The only problem will be that Reanne will grow out of hers way faster! I may need to get another set in 9mos for when she needs it!

Visit with Nana and Grandpa

We had a lot of fun having Nana and Grandpa here.  Amber definitely enjoys having extra adults at her beck and call! :)  At lunch on Sunday she got cold, so Grandpa let her use his jacket.  It was just a bit big!

Some fun photos

These are a pretty random set of pictures from the last week or so. ;)  We've got Grandpa in one of his most common activities with small kids..... "flying baby!"  Also, Amber's beautiful face paint from a birthday party on Saturday. As well as  FINALLY on her bike after issues with getting the pedals on (turns out that you had to screw in the left pedal counter clockwise) and the tires inflated (note to self, cheap air pump = bad idea).

Now it's fun, but a lot of work and somewhat stressful compared to a bike that does not have breaks and requires no balance. :)  

We are having quite a bit of heat and humidity.  On Saturday there were thunderstorms that ended the birthday party prematurely.  This weekend we are expecting heat and humidity (85 degrees or more and about the same humidity).  We're looking forward to fall, both for school starting again as well as the cool! :)

After spending months being annoyed every time the camera flashed in her face, we finally had Reanne awake and in a place where the camera didn't need to flash!  So, here's a couple. :)

As much as she doesn't like the flashes, Daddy managed to get some good expressions.  This is one of the best! :)

Two Months Old!

Earlier this week Reanne had her 2 month well baby visit.  She is doing great!  She was 23 inches long which is in the 75th percentile and 13 lbs 6 oz, which is between the 90th and 95th percentile.  Now we know why she looks so chunky!  Happily, she's not quite as big as her daddy was at the same time in life, but she's definitely close!

Mommy is getting a little more sleep at night as well as enjoying the smiles and coos.  Amber loves to hold her sister, though sometimes it's a little hard to have to share her parents.  :)

People have been asking....

So, people have been asking if Reanne looks like Amber did at about the same age.  Here is a picture of Amber and a picture of Reanne at this time of year and you can draw your own conclusions!( Amber is wearing the ducky onsie.)

Amber's Dance Recital

A couple weeks ago Amber had her dance recital.  It was the grand culmination of a semester's worth of practice and some seriously fluffy costumes!  12 three and four year olds dancing in poofy pink and sparkly outfits.  She did a great job and loved being on stage and performing with her friends. :)
