Christmas 2009

Looking back a bit.... Amber was very concerned that Santa might not really know how to do his job correctly, so we had a few places where Amber helped. :) We also managed to have lots of presents! I guess we thought that there wouldn't be as much since we weren't going to be with all the extended family, but boxes kept showing up with more stuff for the girls!!!

Long time!!!!

Wow! It's been a rather long time since there were any pictures here! We'll work to remedy that. Life has been very busy.... Amber loves kindergarten and all the new friends and activities that go along with it. :) This picture is the girls playing with one of their many Christmas gifts. :)

Hard Work!

I guess taking apart the house and trying to keep up with Amber is terribly hard work. :) This is Reanne after she finished eating her lunch. Too bad that we still have to take Amber to school! I guess it's just one more part of being the little sister.... ;)

Fun with paper

Reanne is becoming a very strong willed little girl. I'm afraid that she's trying to be big and do everything that her sister is doing, whether or not it's actually appropriate. These pics include lots of papers that were waiting to be shredded that she decided needed to be played with instead. :) It was a big mess, but fun.

Here's a video of true walking! Reanne is getting very adventurous when she's in a place that's familiar, and outside Amber's dance class is one of those places! :)

Ways to stay cool

Well, it's very hot in the Seattle area these days. Luckily for me, the girls are totally willing to be silly and enjoy what cool they can find. :)

We have a super "cool" superhero, and fun with the fan. Amber was definitely experiencing a Marilyn Monroe type moment.

We've got a climber!!!

Today Reanne began her climbing adventures at a whole new level. I heard Amber saying, "no, no Reanne" from the bathroom and went to check on them. This is what I found! She's so very pleased with herself, but doesn't like the getting down/falling part much. :)

Hard work

Finally some pictures of Reanne standing! This evening she decided to take 10 minutes or so to practice. There were lots of ups and downs, but also some steps and plenty of clapping. She's definitely getting motivated to move on her own two feet! :)

Steps!!!

Well, yesterday evening Reanne decided to take her first steps. She does not seem to be terribly anxious to do a repeat demonstration, but we will have the video camera ready when she does! Hopefully it will be soon! :)

Well, I'm afraid that there has been a lot going on in the last month, so we are very behind. These are some recent pictures, and then later we'll post the videos (I hope) of some of Amber's end of school concerts. :)

Reanne was so tired that she just plain went to sleep on the floor! After having a nap!

First Birthday Cake

Today we did our party for Amber and Reanne. I'm happy to say that it was nice; around 70 degrees and sunshine! :) Unlike her big sister, Reanne was absolutely happy to dive into cake. She had her first cake at the park, and happily devoured a second helping after dinner!

Comparisons

We've been looking back at pictures and it's amazing to see how much Amber has grown and where the girls look similar and where they don't.  So, here's a picture of Amber and one of Reanne at about the same point in life, just before their 1st birthdays.  

Amber is 5!!!

It's so scary.  The girl who was my baby not really that long ago is now five, and her little sister is almost 1!  Where did the time go????

Jenn's wedding

I'm afraid that since I was in the wedding, I don't have too many pictures, so I'm collecting from others, but here are a few. Amber had a great time being a flower girl, though she did get very tired of the "flower crown" that she was wearing. Everything was wonderful until the bride and groom made their getaway, and then Amber was upset for a very long time. I'm afraid she hadn't really understood that she'd be saying "goodbye" while there were lots of other people around. All in all, it was a beautiful day and a beautiful ceremony/celebration. :)

After spending 2 1/2 weeks in CA, it's taken a long time to get back into our normal routine. At least for me. :) Anyway, there are WAY too many pictures to post them all, but here are some cute ones.

Snow in March?

Our weather is definitely strange....  As someone I talked to said, "weather in this area is bipolar."  I had to laugh because this is so true!  Anyway, today we had snow on the cars when we got up, and snow falling pretty heavily while picking up Amber from school.  Happily, it's pretty wet snow so it's not really sticking on the ground. :)  Amber was very pleased with her homework today, they had to catch a snowflake on their tongue.  According to 4 year olds, snow tastes funny!

Officially Crawling

Reanne is definitely making progress. :)  She's working on cutting her 6th tooth and definitely crawling!

9 months(ish)

So it would seem that it's time to see how much the girls look like each other once again. So, here we go..... Amber was significantly more mobile, already pulling herself up and taking a few steps. Reanne is still trying to figure out the crawling thing. ;)

Bath time fun

Reanne has discovered that playing in the tub with her sister is quite fun. It is a rather wet time for anyone who happens to be nearby, but definitely amusing. :)

Daddy's Birthday

Amber decided that she needed to be a part of celebrating Daddy's birthday with singing. So, we had ableskiver special for breakfast and Daddy got a candle and a song too. :)

On another note, Reanne has gotten self feeding down. At least with bread! She very happily picks it up and gets it to her mouth. Like her big sister, she really enjoys her carbs!

MarioKart

As dinner was being prepared this evening, this was our girls. :) Amber is playing MarioKart Wii and Reanne is watching, and working on her cup of water which I hope is helping with tooth pain.

Well, at this point Reanne is almost crawling. She's very ready to start getting into stuff, but at this point she rolls to get where she wants to be. :) We also are finally finishing up the second bout of teething and will hopefully have 2 top teeth very soon!
